Honestly this one is... fine. I don't have any strong opinions with it either way. Unfortunately the water effects aged pretty bad and the horror aspect is nearly non existent. This is just "The Lady In The Water" of short films Rating: 60%

SOON EVERY HOME WILL HAVE A ROBOT HELPER. DON'T WORRY, YOUR KIDS ARE SAFE.A story about a boy, his robot and the consequences of his anger at the disintegration of his parents marriage. This short feels like its from Hulu Screamfest. the short has a professional production design and an interesting concept however its not without fault. Blinky although dangerous comes across as extremely cute and that's a bad thing. When making a horror short based off something aimed at children it can be difficult to make the character come off as ominus and child friendly at the same time. Blinky fails to come off as alarming in the slightest so you cant take him seriously in the slightest and hes never scary or creepy which is unfortunate because it can and has been done before (such as Chucky, Five Nights At Freddy's, The Hug (short film). Luckily this short is able to bring in a good taste of tension... for about 5 minutes. Other than the production values there's not much to admire here. Rating: 68%A simple, domestic love story about a man who takes his skin off for his girlfriend, and why it probably wasn’t the best idea… This short was absolutely phenomenal. Although not a horror short the short manages to give you a mind bending story that clearly has a deeper meaning ( I currently have not figured out exactly what it is). This Not much else to say, definitely give this one a watch. Rating: 89%Treevenge details the experiences and horrifying reality of the lives of Christmas trees. Clearly, for trees, Christmas isn’t the exciting “peace on earth” that is experienced by most. After being hacked down, and shipped away from their homes, they quickly become strung up, screwed into an upright position for all to see, exposed in a humiliation of garish decorations. But this Christmas will be different, this Christmas the trees have had enough, this Christmas the trees will fight back. Treevenge could be a short film about the end of days for Christmas trees, or perhaps, the end of humanity? Right off the bat the idea to go handheld is awful and makes parts of the short nearly incomprehensible, this issue is exemplified by the white and blurred backgrounds that come off as over lit. This short has no production value, no intruege, and drags out far longer than its welcome, The short clocks in at nearly 16 minutes and could easily be cut down to 8. Something that could have benefited this short greatly is animation. If the short was animated they could have the trees bend in obscure ways and things like gore or lighting wouldn't have been an issue. Overall This short isn't worth your time. Rating: 53%LOCKING THE DOORS WON’T HELP. Two robbers unknowingly break into the home of a murderer who is in the process of hiding his latest victim. Todays short by James Kwon Lee was unfortunately lacking. From the type stamps 3-6 minutes could easily be cut and we would have the same amount of context and the story is very reminiscent of Eyes without a face in terms of story. The shorts biggest issue is timing. This short has scenes with no suspense or substance that are completely distracting that take the viewers out of the moment. This short does manage to have a couple positives. The production quality is very high, The actors are all skilled, The traditional special effects look absolutely wonderful and the concept (although a bit unoriginal) is presented in an interesting and enjoyable way. Rating: 71%Saw is an Australian nine-and-a-half-minute short subject horror film that was later expanded to a full feature film. The story is about David, an orderly at a hospital, who tells his horrific story of being kidnapped and forced to play a vile game of survival. Saw (0.5) by James Wan is decent at best. The saw films are great however in this short film (that acts as a pilot) Its clear that time and budget constraints were an issue. The short tries to give us a story that in the full version actually ended up being the majority of the film but for a pitch that took 8 days to film this is very impressive. Leigh Whannell gives a great performance and we get to see the classic Billy puppet differencesUsually my reviews don't have this section but this short is the pilot for a the 2004 hit series SAW so it seemed necessary. While not having many differences the ones that are here are very noticable. In the short the character we would soon know as Adam is actually referred to as David, David has the same story line and trap as Amanda from the film, and Billy is seen wearing a small hat that the film lacks Rating: 72%Pig me is the story about a pig that escapes from a slaughter house. He finds his way to a pet shop and discovers the nice and warmth atmosphere between the costumers and the animals getting bought. He also wants to get bought, but he realizes that nobody wants to buy a pig. The only solution he can find to that problem is to dress up as the other animals in the pet shop. 2009s Pig Me by Mette Tange was able to portray great atmosphere and tone however this isn't technically a horror flick, it is closer to a regular short with a dark twist. This film is still able to impress with lack of dialogue, beautifully fluid animation, and intriguing plot. Unfortunately this short ran a bit long and could have easily been condensed, appearing effective regardless. Rating: 75%Is your food actually 100% organic? Out of all the shorts I've seen so far this month this one as got to be the most effective. Without any dialogue Yoann Luis is able to deliver a simple story with heavy intensity and great gore. Throughout. Not much to say about this one, give it a watch and feel a shiver down your spine rating: 95%When technology exceeds humanity… Although predictable this 2014 short by Ariel Martin exceeds expectation and is an extremely entertaining experience. The shorts stand out qualities are production value, a stand out performance by Matilda brown and surprisingly almost no special effects. This shorts performances and direction make it instantly entertaining, however no short is without fault. Throughout the film there are cuts to an as seen on TV commercial for Imom which do have a purpose in the short unfortunately come off as distracting and out of the tone luckily are short. The short also has he problem of predictability, its very clear how the shorts going to end around the 3 minute mark leaving nearly 10 minutes with mediocre suspense. Rating: 80%Bree, a dishonest 9-year-old receives a terrifying visitor after a parenting lesson goes horribly wrong. Justin Hardings 2016 short Kookie was successfully spooky with minimal gore or jumpscares! The short unfortunately has an unclear message making the story come off as unfinished or poorly written. By the end its not much better, it feels like there should be a second half or a missing scene from the short because although we do see the clown at the end we don't find out if its haunting her, if shes working with it ( she doesn't come off as scared by it), and we don't know what the babysitter saw. Lack of detail in horror can lead your imagination to wander and add to the fear factor but here all it does is make the script look unfinished which is a shame because the production quality, designs, and acting (especially for an actor of that age) are all there but the story still fails on its own marrot.
