Alex's 16th birthday quickly takes a turn when he begins to discover the horror that is brewing under the surface of his family. Although a bit predictable and cheesy this short manages to have creative glimpses of originality and the pacing it wonderful, No scene felt to short or too long. The Atmosphere was well portrayed without being in your face and brash and the short does pass on those marrots... However the film falls flat in the story aspect. The story feels a bit predictable because of the dialogue. Everything is spoon fed to the audience as if they don't know how to use context clues and the mothers tone, although supposed to come off as bothersome to the son instead appears as belittling to the audience. Many films fail to respect their audience enough to imply things or leave mystery in the air and it makes the content quality suffer greatly. My rating: 76%
